Unmasking Influence:
How the Manosphere Affects Young Women

We launched and raised national awareness for Tomorrow Woman’s Unmasking Influence: How the Manosphere Affects Young Women report by shining a spotlight on its most alarming findings.

The challenge

Tomorrow Woman is a social enterprise that runs two-hour immersive workshops, in schools, sporting clubs and within the community, for women (and those who identify as women) aged 16 and up, all across Australia.

The sessions enable women to explore their experiences of womanhood by challenging stereotypes and unpacking the expectations placed on them by family, society and their peers.

Tomorrow Woman wanted to draw attention to the work they do and the plight of many young women.

The Solution

We launched and raised national awareness for Tomorrow Woman’s Unmasking Influence: How the Manosphere Affects Young Women report by shining a spotlight on its most alarming findings.

We commissioned YouGov to explore the impact of hypermasculine behaviours, driven by figures like Andrew Tate and the manosphere, on female high school students in Australia. More often than not the media had reported on the detrimental effects on men but there was no female narrative on the matter. We wanted to change this.

The results

Kicking off with an exclusive feature across News Corp’s Sunday mastheads, our campaign achieved 23 pieces of media coverage, reaching over 21 million. We also secured interviews with major programs, including ABC SA & NT Evenings with Jason Chong and ABC Victorian Statewide Drive with Prue Bentley, as well as coverage in youth and education media.
